The city anticipates that the benefits of a smart city infrastructure may include, but not be limited to, a decrease in energy usage achieved through saving utility costs and reducing carbon emissions, the creation of other cost-saving opportunities or opportunities to generate revenue, or both; the enhancement of the city as a community and regional destination; and direct and alternative connectivity options for the city’s networking needs, both present and in the future. Firms are encouraged to recommend creative options that will advance this vision for the city.
